Anna Jonne Burns was raised in Poland and educated in Australia. She was short-listed for non-fiction in Melbourne’s Lord Mayor Creative Writing Awards.
Resilience was published in 2015 by Lionheart Books, and is based on her family’s experiences at the onset of WW2, and includes references to the deportation to Siberia, Katyń and the formation of the Second Division of the Polish Army. Anna is also a translator of a military document and memoir, War Paths on the Eastern Front, by Josef Margules.
Her writings range from educational articles to poems, short stories and novels. Her poetry was published in journals and anthologies including: Mother I’m Rooted, Unborn Beauty, Writing from the Peninsula and others.
Two collections of satirical short stories, titled, Skewed and Tangents were followed by a Romantic novel titled Essence of Trust. She is currently working on a young adult novel, What Binds.
A retired teacher, she lives with her husband on the Mornington Peninsula.
