Lineup | Dance | Polish Folkloric Ensemble “Syrenka”
Sydney, Australia
Syrenka is a vibrant and energetic Polish folkloric ensemble from Ashfield, Sydney. The group was formed in 1968, and currently consists of more than 100 dancers over three age groups, rehearsing weekly. Syrenka has an extensive range of authentic costumes from Poland, which allows it to have a large repertoire of dances. Syrenka’s major debut was the opening of the Sydney Opera House in 1973 and it has performed at the Opening Ceremony of the Sydney 2000 Olympics. Syrenka has performed at all PolArt festivals in Australia, as well as at the World Festival of Polish Folklore Groups at Rzeszow in Poland in 1999, 2002 and in 2019. Next year Syrenka will be celebrating its 55th anniversary and is extremely proud to be co-hosting PolArt Sydney 2022 with all the other Sydney groups!
