“Podhale” is a Polish song and dance ensemble based at the White Eagle Hall in Cabramatta, under the patronage of the Cabramatta Polish Association. Podhale was formed in January 2009 by a team of dedicated dancers and parents together with the Ensemble’s Artistic Directors, Daniel and Basia Gadd. It has over 40 performers in three age categories.

Podhale’s repertoire is comprised of original folklore faithful choreographies from a cross-section of Polish ethnographic regions and all five national dances, which are performed in authentic costumes. Podhale’s repertoire also includes presentations of Polish customs including a traditional Podhalanski wedding, a Polish highlanders gathering, children’s folk dances and games as well as celebrations of the Polish harvest. Podhale enjoys presenting cultural traditions in choreographies that incorporate the entire group, from the youngest to the oldest.

Podhale regularly participates in cultural and religious events, including Polish Feast and National days. Podhale has performed at PolArt Festivals in Adelaide, Perth, Melbourne and Brisbane, Sydney Royal Easter Shows, Wollongong and Sydney Oktoberfest’s, Floriade and National Multicultural Festivals in Canberra.

Podhale’s instructors, Basia and Daniel hold between them a Diploma in Polish Folk Dance Choreography from Rzeszow, Poland and a Certificate IV in Dance Teaching & Management.
